Driveway and street

Outdoor Car Covers

An outdoor cover has to survive weather and the street: wind, wet, sun, tree sap, bird lime, and people walking past it every day. That is a harder job than it sounds, and it is what every DailyShield line is designed around.

Wind is the failure mode

Most outdoor covers do not fail because water gets through. They fail because wind lifts them, the hem whips against the paint, and the fabric tears at the mirrors. Anchoring — hem elastic, grommets, an underbody strap — is what makes an outdoor cover last.

Street parking realities

On-street, a cable lock through the front and rear grommets deters casual removal and stops the cover leaving in a gale. Reflective piping helps other drivers see the car at night when the reflectors are covered.

Sap, lime and grit

Tree sap and bird lime attack lacquer within days in warm weather. A cover takes the hit instead, but only if it is washed occasionally rather than left to hold the residue against the paint.

Frequently asked

Can I really leave an all-season cover on the car all year?
Yes — that is what it is designed for. The build combines a waterproof outer with a breathable membrane, so rain stays out while moisture from the ground and the car can escape. Take the cover off periodically to wash both the cover and the car, and never fit it over heavy mud or road salt.
How do you know the cover fits my exact vehicle?
Fitment is matched to your vehicle's generation, not its model year. Each generation has recorded length, width and height, and those dimensions decide the pattern. Where a trim changes the shape — a rear wing, a sports bar, wider arches — that exception is listed on the generation page.
